The electronic cigarette was created in China by a Chinese Pharmacist named Hon Lik last 2003 and emerged in the market a year after. It has 3 main components: The atomizer, cartridge and the battery. The cartridge is where the solution is contained and vaporized with openings at both ends enabling the user to inhale the vaporized solution. After depleting the contents in the cartridge, the user can either refill it or replace it with a prefilled one. The Atomizer is the heating part that is responsible for vaporizing the substance in the e cigarette. It has a filament that serves as the element for heating that deteriorates over the use of the device and would need replacement for it to function well. The battery is the source of power for the heating element. It is rechargeable and could be sensor driven activation or in manually operated mode.
